BJP alleges crimes on rise under DMK govt

In a recent social media video posted by Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, shocking footage alleges an attack on a restaurant manager in Thirumangalam, Chennai. According to Annamalai, the incident occurred after the manager refused to pay what is colloquially known as “mamool” – protection money often demanded by local groups. The video, shared on the micro-blogging site ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), depicts a harrowing scene where a group of five men enters the cash counter of a bakery. The manager, seated at the counter, is forcibly pulled from his position. The situation escalates quickly as the assailants begin a violent assault, and despite the manager bleeding heavily, they show no signs of stopping. The BJP leader explicitly accuses the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of Tamil Nadu for the incident. Annamalai asserts that such incidents, including petrol bomb attacks, broad daylight murders fueled by alcohol and drugs, unsafe streets for women, and a surge in goondaism, reflect the alleged failures of the DMK government. @@@
