Stalin outlines DMK’s vision for 2024 LS elections

In a recent meeting with DMK district secretaries, party president MK Stalin outlined a strategic vision for the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, directing party members to focus on winning all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Stalin asserted that the selection of the next Prime Minister should be influenced by the DMK’s success in securing victory across all constituencies. He emphasized a merit-based approach, stating, “Whoever owns the opportunity of winning, will be the candidate.” Stalin assured party members that the DMK leadership would manage alliance-building and seat-sharing arrangements, allowing local functionaries to concentrate on election-related tasks. During the meeting, Stalin announced the appointment of State Minister KN Nehru as the coordinator for the DMK Youth Wing Conference scheduled for December 17 in Salem. Stressing the importance of a robust youth wing, Stalin envisioned an event with an attendance of 5 lakh cadres, highlighting the substantial growth in activities since Minister Udhayanidhi took charge as the youth wing secretary. “The DMK youth wing is a strong force with 25 lakh members. After Minister Udhayanidhi took over as youth wing secretary, the work has picked up manifold speed,” Stalin remarked, indicating the party’s commitment to harnessing the energy and enthusiasm of the youth. Stalin also acknowledged the positive reception of welfare schemes, including monthly cash doles for women, expressing confidence in securing the women’s vote. He stated, “There should be no doubt that the women’s vote is ours anytime now.” The meeting saw the participation of key DMK figures, including General Secretary Duraimurugan, Treasurer TR Baalu, and Ministers Udhayanidhi Stalin, K Ponmudy, among others. @@@q
