In a recent media address in Salem, AIADMK general secretary ‘Edappadi’ K Palaniswami criticized the DMK’s governance, alleging that their Dravidian model is a deceptive strategy to mislead the people of Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami specifically targeted the DMK’s promise of free bus travel for women, claiming that the party has deceived women by restricting this benefit to only a few buses. Palaniswami accused the DMK of employing a cunning model of governance, asserting that the Dravidian party has been misleading the public with its policies. He expressed concern over the gathering of personal details, including caste and mobile numbers, from women benefiting from free bus travel. Palaniswami suggested that such information collection could potentially lead to unsavory activities in the future. Addressing public health issues, Palaniswami blamed Health Minister Ma Subramanian for the rampant spread of fever during seasonal rains, accusing him of failing to implement effective preventive measures. On the water-sharing front, Palaniswami criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin for not demanding an additional 10 tmc of Cauvery water from Karnataka during India block meetings. He argued that this lack of initiative demonstrates Stalin’s disregard for the welfare of farmers in Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami also highlighted economic challenges, attributing a setback in the industrial sector to factors such as power tariff hikes, increased property taxes, and other levies. According to him, these measures have led to a decline in investor confidence, with businesses now choosing to relocate to neighboring states. In conclusion, Palaniswami’s address underscores the ongoing political rivalry between the AIADMK and the DMK, with accusations of deception, negligence in governance, and concerns over privacy issues. @@@@
