AIADMK will form a strong alliance, says EPS

In preparation for the upcoming Parliamentary elections, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced that his party would forge a strong alliance to contest the polls. Speaking to reporters in Musiri, he expressed confidence that the AIADMK-led alliance would be formidable enough to secure victory in all 40 Lok Sabha seats, including the one in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Palaniswami emphasised that the party had ample time to establish the alliance, and details would be revealed once the election dates were officially announced. The AIADMK leader’s statement reflects the party’s strategic approach to the upcoming parliamentary electoral battle. Palaniswami took a swipe at Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s administration, citing the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung. He asserted that the government’s inefficiency was exposed, leading to undue suffering for the people of Chennai and neighbouring districts. The AIADMK leader argued that had the state government taken proactive measures following the cyclone, the subsequent floods in southern districts could have been better managed. Despite advanced warnings from the India Meteorological Department about heavy to very heavy rainfall, Palaniswami accused the DMK government of failing to implement precautionary measures. He highlighted the significant damage caused by the Thamirabarani River flooding, including loss of lives and extensive damage to properties and infrastructure. Palaniswami also criticized the State government’s compensation for those affected by the floods, deeming it meager and calling for an increase. During his visit to
