Chennai, Jan 20: In a distressing turn of events, allegations of abuse against the domestic help of DMK MLA I Karunanithi’s son, Andro Mathivanan, and his wife Marlina have resulted in the Chennai police booking them under four sections. The case unfolded following complaints and took a serious turn when the victim’s statement was recorded at a hospital in Ulundurpettai, where she is receiving treatment for injuries.The Neelankarai All-Women Police Station initiated the case, with Inspector Rajeswari recording the statement of the teen who had been subjected to alleged physical assault and harassment in her workplace. The severity of the accusations prompted the police to invoke sections, including those under the Prevention of Atrocities against Women and Children.
The ordeal came to light when the domestic help, during her visit to her native place for Pongal, confided in her parents about the abuse she endured. The revelation triggered immediate action, with TN BJP chief Annamalai and NTK convenor Seeman expressing concern and condemning the actions of the Pallavaram MLA’s family.
