AIADMK wave in TN, says EPS

In a recent address to party functionaries in Salem, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami asserted that Tamil Nadu is currently experiencing an ‘AIADMK wave.’ Palaniswami attributed this purported wave to widespread discontentment among the populace towards the ruling DMK government’s policies and actions.

Palaniswami’s remarks came amidst the ongoing political fervor leading up to the upcoming elections in the state. He emphasized the alleged disenchantment with the DMK administration, accusing it of failing to fulfill its electoral promises and neglecting various welfare schemes initiated by the previous AIADMK government.

Highlighting the issue of candidate defections, Palaniswami criticized the DMK for fielding individuals who were formerly associated with the AIADMK. He lamented the supposed disloyalty of these candidates and urged the electorate to rebuke such behavior at the polls.

Furthermore, Palaniswami criticized the DMK government’s track record on governance, citing examples such as the scaling back of welfare schemes and the alleged neglect of agricultural initiatives. He claimed that the DMK’s recent announcement of financial assistance for women was a result of pressure exerted by the AIADMK.

One of the key grievances raised by Palaniswami was the DMK’s failure to implement the Mettur surplus water scheme, which he argued has adversely affected farmers in the region. He asserted that the AIADMK had consistently advocated for the scheme’s implementation to benefit the farming community.Palaniswami’s campaign efforts also included engaging with local traders, where he distributed pamphlets outlining the party’s stance and objectives.
