Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the central government under his leadership has failed to provide adequate relief during times of crisis, particularly in the aftermath of floods in Tamil Nadu.During his campaign for DMK’s Erode Lok Sabha constituency candidate KE Prakash, Udhayanidhi Stalin asserted that despite Tamil Nadu contributing significantly to the central government’s coffers through GST, the state receives disproportionately low returns. He highlighted the stark disparity, revealing that for every rupee paid as tax, Tamil Nadu only receives 29 paisa in return, painting a picture of injustice and neglect towards the state’s interests.
Blaming the AIADMK for acquiescing to the BJP’s demands, Udhayanidhi accused AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of betraying the people of Tamil Nadu by allowing the controversial NEET exam to be imposed on the state. However, he assured that the DMK remains committed to fighting for the exemption of Tamil Nadu students from NEET through legal avenues.
Later, Udhayanidhi addressed campaign rallies in Tirupur and Coimbatore, where he reiterated his party’s commitment to championing the rights and interests of Tamil Nadu. He vowed to continue the struggle against what he perceives as the central government’s neglect and disregard for the state’s welfare.
