Modi to visit Chennai 20 June

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Chennai on June 20th to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service from Egmore railway station to Nagercoil. This marks his first visit to Tamil Nadu since assuming office for the third time. The event is highly anticipated, with PM Modi expected to inaugurate several railway-related projects and Central Government initiatives at the Chennai-Egmore railway station.

The launch of the Vande Bharat train service between Chennai and Nagercoil is a significant addition to Tamil Nadu’s railway network. Currently, Vande Bharat Express trains are operational on six routes in the state, including Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Tirunelveli, Chennai-Mysuru, Coimbatore-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Vijayawada. The introduction of the daily service between Egmore and Nagercoil comes after persistent demand from passengers, who have long advocated for increased frequency on this route. The Southern Railway Administration recommended this change to the Railway Board, which subsequently approved the daily operation.

In preparation for PM Modi’s visit, the Greater Chennai Police have commenced extensive security arrangements. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is also expected to attend the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the significance of the event for the state.

The Tamil Nadu BJP is organizing a special welcome for Prime Minister Modi, celebrating his first visit to the region after his recent electoral victory. The visit not only highlights the ongoing development efforts in Tamil Nadu’s railway infrastructure but also marks a significant moment in the state’s political landscape.

The Vande Bharat Express, known for its speed and comfort, represents a leap forward in Indian Railways’ endeavor to provide world-class services. The new daily service between Egmore and Nagercoil is expected to enhance connectivity and provide a much-needed boost to the region’s economic and social development.
As the date approaches, excitement is building among the residents and officials, looking forward to witnessing the inauguration of a service that promises to significantly improve travel between Chennai and Nagercoil.
