The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Chennai Field Office is gearing up to host the second edition of the Oorum Unavum food festival at Semmozhi Park, Chennai. The event will take place on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July, promising an immersive cultural experience under the theme Enjoyment for All.
Following the success of last year’s festival, Oorum Unavum will once again celebrate the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Sri Lankan Tamils and refugees from Myanmar. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample over 70 different types of food throughout the three-day event.
The festival will be open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, featuring an evening music concert to enhance the festive atmosphere. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all, entry will be limited to 500 people per day for lunch and drinks.
Advance booking is required for those interested in attending. Reservations can be made by contacting 91764 83735 or by emailing the organizers.
Oorum Unavum promises to be a vibrant celebration of food and culture, offering a unique opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy the diverse flavors and traditions of the region.
