TTDC gets five hi-tech buses

In a bid to attract more travelers, Tamil Nadu tourism has introduced five high-tech and luxurious buses, flagged off by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday. This initiative by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) aims to enhance the travel experience for tourists in the state.

The new high-tech Volvo buses, purchased at a cost of Rs 3 crore, include four 35-seater buses designed for long trips and one 18-seater mini-bus intended for shorter journeys. Each bus is equipped with a range of modern amenities such as air conditioning, air suspension, GPS, Wi-Fi facilities, and mobile phone chargers for each seat, ensuring a comfortable and convenient travel experience.

The TTDC highlighted that the new buses are ideal for long trips, allowing passengers to enjoy a comfortable journey even for more than two weeks. Additionally, ample luggage space has been provided to accommodate the needs of travelers.

With the addition of these five high-tech buses, the total number of large high-tech buses in TTDC’s fleet has increased to 22, while the number of small buses has risen to 16.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by Youth Welfare, Sports Development, Special Programme Implementation Department, and Poverty Alleviation Programme and Rural Indebtedness Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, as well as Tourism Minister K. Ramachandran, who were present to support this new initiative.
