In a heart-wrenching incident, eighteen people lost their lives and several others were injured when a sleeper bus traveling from Sitamarhi in Bihar to Delhi collided with a milk tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao. The accident occurred around 5:15 AM under the Behtamujawar police station area.
The double-decker bus rammed into the milk tanker, resulting in significant casualties. Following the collision, police swiftly arrived at the scene, extracting the injured and transporting them to CHC Bangarmau for medical treatment. Authorities are currently undertaking the necessary actions related to the incident.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his deep condolences to the families of the deceased and took immediate cognizance of the accident. He has directed officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure that those affected receive timely assistance.
The tragic accident has cast a pall of grief over the region, highlighting the critical need for enhanced road safety measures on busy highways like the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.
