Tamil Nadu Agricultural Minister Panneerselvam, along with the department secretary and other officials, will be traveling to Australia tomorrow to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing agricultural research and education.
Australia, known for its advancements in agriculture despite challenges like low soil fertility and water scarcity, exports 72% of its agricultural products to various countries. The nation has been conducting extensive research to improve agricultural practices and horticulture crops.
The visit aims to establish MoUs between agricultural universities in Tamil Nadu and renowned institutions in Sydney and Melbourne. These agreements will facilitate knowledge exchange, allowing students to learn about ongoing agricultural research in Australia.
Minister Panneerselvam, Secretary Apoorva, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Geethalakshmi will embark on a one-week visit starting tomorrow, July 21. During this trip, they will gain insights into the agricultural research and practices being carried out at the two universities.
