In a recent move, appointment orders were issued to 144 individuals under various administrative bodies. This includes 29 people selected by the Municipal Administration Directorate, 18 by the Directorate of Town Panchayats, and 97 by the Water Supply and Drainage Board. Additionally, 27 individuals received compassionate appointments.In another significant development, the municipalities of Thiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Pudukottai, and Karaikudi have been upgraded to the status of municipal corporations. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin handed over the official orders for this upgrade to the respective municipal corporation chairpersons during a ceremony held at the Secretariat yesterday.
These steps reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen municipal governance and provide opportunities for employment within the state.
