Chennai: AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has raised sharp questions regarding the status of the promised NEET cancellation by the DMK government.
His remarks come in response to the tragic death of a student in Thanjavur district, who reportedly took his own life after failing to clear the NEET exam for the second consecutive year.
In his statement, EPS expressed his shock and sorrow over the news of Dhanush, a student from Silambavelangadu in Thanjavur district, who ended his life after being unable to pass the NEET exam for two years in a row. He criticized the DMK government and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, accusing them of playing a political drama in the name of NEET cancellation. EPS urged the Chief Minister to recognize that the blood of students, misled by empty promises of NEET cancellation, is on his hands.
EPS also questioned the role of the DMK’s 40 MPs in Parliament, asking what they have been doing regarding the NEET issue. He pointedly asked when the “NEET cancellation secret,” as claimed by Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, would finally be revealed. EPS expressed his frustration over the ongoing loss of young lives due to the uncertainty surrounding NEET and condemned the DMK government for deceiving students. He urged the DMK to take concrete and constructive actions regarding NEET cancellation rather than making empty promises.
Addressing students directly, EPS emphasized the irreplaceable value of life and urged them not to lose hope. He encouraged students to face life’s challenges head-on and turn them into stepping stones to success. EPS reminded them that there is always a special place for each person in this world, and they should never give up.
With this statement, EPS has once again brought the issue of NEET cancellation to the forefront, urging the ruling DMK government to act decisively to prevent further student tragedies.
