Vijay to unveil TVK’s flag on Aug 22

Chennai: Actor Vijay, who recently transformed his fan club, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, into a political party named Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), is set to unveil the party’s flag on August 22. The actor-turned-politician had announced the formation of the party in February this year, with the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections as the primary goal.

Vijay, who has decided to shift his focus entirely from cinema to full-time politics, has continued his tradition of awarding and incentivizing students who achieve top marks in their exams this year as well. His political activities have been heavily centered around engaging the youth, reflecting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.

The Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam had initially planned to hold its first political conference on September 22 in either Madurai or Trichy. However, due to indirect pressures from the ruling party, securing a venue in these cities became challenging. Consequently, the party is now attempting to organize the conference on a private 85-acre land in Vikravandi, Villupuram district.

It was previously announced that the party’s flag, along with its ideologies and other details, would be revealed during the conference. However, it has now been confirmed that Vijay will unveil the Tamil Nadu Vetrik Kazhagam’s flag at the party office in Panaiyur on August 22.

There is also speculation that the party flag will feature the Vagai flower as its central emblem. The Vagai flower symbolizes victory, making it a fitting symbol for the party, whose name translates to “Tamil Nadu Victory Party.” Party members believe that the Vagai flower will resonate well with the party’s goals and aspirations.
