The century-old Government Hospital in Saidapet is now capturing widespread attention for its impressive achievements and forthcoming expansion. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Mr. M. Subramaniam announced that by January 2025, the hospital will add a 200-bed facility to better serve the community. Renovations for this new addition are currently underway, and once completed, it will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.This historic hospital, which has been serving the public for over 100 years, has recently reached several significant milestones. Notably, the hospital has successfully performed more than 10,000 dialysis procedures. Additionally, it has treated over 313,864 outpatients and 75,316 inpatients, and conducted around 2,800 successful surgeries.
The hospital’s contributions extend beyond surgeries and dialysis. The Saidapet GH has carried out 919,318 blood tests and treated 1,100 patients with angioplasty. These accomplishments have been bolstered by generous contributions from the Rotary Club and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which provided CSR funds. These funds enabled the hospital to acquire medical equipment worth Rs 1.20 crore.
