Engg admissions: 30 colleges report no student enrollments

In a recent update on engineering admissions, it has been revealed that no students have enrolled in 30 engineering colleges out of those included in the two-phase counseling process.
Under Anna University, there are 433 engineering colleges with 1,79,938 government quota seats available. The counseling for student admissions began on the 22nd of last month.
During the special preference counseling, seats were allocated to 836 students who chose their desired courses and colleges.
Following that, the general category counseling started on the 29th of last month and was conducted in two phases. As a result, seats were allocated to 62,802 students in the general category and 8,308 students in the 7.5% internal reservation category. To date, a total of 71,946 engineering seats have been filled, accounting for 39% of the total available seats.
According to the completed counseling sessions, all seats in four specific colleges, including Anna University’s Kotturpuram campus and MIT, have been filled.
Moreover, over 90% of seats in 14 government and government-aided colleges, as well as central educational institutions, have been occupied.
Additionally, 80% of seats in 57 colleges, 50% of seats in 114 colleges, and 10% of seats in 197 colleges have been filled. However, it has also been reported that no students have enrolled in 30 engineering colleges.
