Palani, Aug 26:Â The two-day Muthamizh Murugan Conference, organized by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, concluded yesterday in Palani amidst chants of “Muruga.”The conference, which began the day before yesterday with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a welcome address by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, saw the submission of 1,300 research papers by Tamil scholars and experts.
Exhibition halls were set up for devotees and the general public, featuring various displays for viewing.
Among the highlights were exhibitions of the presiding deities from the six abodes of Lord Murugan, a 3D photo exhibition of Lord Murugan, and a virtual reality showcase narrating the glory of the deity through song and visual presentations.
The conference attracted thousands of devotees from across Tamil Nadu, as well as more than 300 international attendees from countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius.
The event celebrated the rich cultural heritage and religious significance of Lord Murugan, drawing together a diverse community of worshippers and scholars in a shared devotional experience.
Earlier, Virtually addressing the âAnaithulaga Muthamizh Murugan Manadu, State Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said, ‘the DMK government does not come in the way of anybodyâs faith and respects the feelings of all.”
âThe DMK rule is the golden period of the HR&CE department. It was during the rule of the Justice Party, the starting point of the DMK, that a law was enacted and right to worship ensured,â Udhayanidhi said.
âDravidam means everything for all. It doesnât ignore anyone but unites everyone and the best example is the appointment of temple archakas (priests) from all castes,â the Minister added.
