Criticize State Government’s Inaction on Social Justice IncidentsAIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam have strongly condemned the Tamil Nadu government’s inaction in addressing incidents that undermine social justice, criticizing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for failing to take necessary steps.
In a statement, Palaniswami expressed shock over a recent incident in Erumapatti, Namakkal district, where human excreta was smeared on the walls and kitchen door of a government primary school in Ambedkar Nagar by anti-social elements. He argued that such acts indicate a complete lack of fear of the law among criminals under the current administration.
Palaniswami referenced a previous incident in Vengaivayal, Pudukkottai district, where human excreta was found in a drinking water tank, stating that if the DMK government had ensured justice at that time, the Erumapatti incident could have been prevented. He accused Chief Minister Stalin of merely paying lip service to the idea of social justice, using it as a tool for political propaganda while failing to enforce it in practice.
Palaniswami demanded that those responsible for the Erumapatti incident be immediately arrested and given the maximum punishment under the law.
Former Chief Minister Panneerselvam echoed Palaniswami’s sentiments, attributing the rise in such heinous acts to the DMK government’s lenient approach towards anti-social elements. He emphasized that the perpetrators should be identified and brought to justice, ensuring they receive appropriate punishment.
Both leaders called for swift and decisive action from the state government to uphold social justice and maintain law and order.
