The Madras High Court has ordered a reinvestigation in the disproportionate assets case against former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam. The judge has also warned that if any attempts are made to delay the proceedings, bail could be revoked.
The court emphasized that it cannot remain passive if any illegal order issued by a criminal court leads to a miscarriage of justice. The Constitution grants supervisory powers to the High Courts, and they are responsible for ensuring that trial courts operate within the legal framework. The directive underscores the importance of upholding judicial integrity and ensuring lawful conduct in trial proceedings.
