The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of actor Kasthuri, who is facing multiple legal cases over controversial remarks made against the Telugu-speaking community during a public event in Chennai. The plea was submitted after the Thirunagar police in Madurai registered a case following a complaint by a member of the Naidu Mahajana Sangam’s state executive committee. The complaint objected to Kasthuri’s statements, which sparked widespread criticism and led to additional complaints across cities, including Chennai.
Despite Kasthuri retracting her remarks and issuing a public apology, the legal consequences continued to unfold. The situation escalated when a police summons was issued, and Kasthuri reportedly went missing, prompting an active search by the Tamil Nadu police.
The rejection of her anticipatory bail by the Madurai Bench adds to the actor’s legal troubles, leaving her in a vulnerable position as the police search and potential arrest loom.
