Superstar Rajinikanth has praised former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Janaki for her immense sacrifices, calling the “Two Leaves” symbol, which represents the AIADMK, its “Brahmastra.” He made these remarks during a video message on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Janaki’s birth in Chennai.
In his video message, Rajinikanth shared his fond memories of Janaki, recalling her warmth and hospitality. “Janaki, the first female Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has been an incredible figure. I’ve visited her house in Ramapuram, where meals were always available. On any given day, 200 to 300 people would be served meals. I have met her three times, and she was always kind and approachable,” Rajinikanth said.
He also spoke about Janaki’s entry into politics after the demise of M.G. Ramachandran (MGR). “After MGR’s passing, Janaki entered politics due to the challenging situation. Though she initially said politics was not for her, she later handed over the responsibility of the party to J. Jayalalithaa, believing that Jayalalithaa was more capable of leading the AIADMK,” Rajinikanth recalled.
Praising Janaki’s selflessness, he emphasized that Janaki made significant sacrifices, particularly for the “Two Leaves” symbol, which has become the AIADMK’s defining trademark. “Janaki made a great sacrifice for the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol, which became the party’s Brahmastra. She chose to step aside for the party’s welfare and the people’s benefit. When I decided to enter politics, I met with many people for advice. However, if I had listened to all their advice, I would have lost everything, including peace of mind,” Rajinikanth noted.
Rajinikanth also reflected on spiritual wisdom shared by Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. “When making a decision, one should consider whether it brings happiness only to oneself or to others as well. If it only brings happiness to you, don’t go for it. But if it brings happiness and satisfaction to others, then make that decision,” he explained.
In line with this wisdom, Rajinikanth praised Janaki’s decision to hand over the leadership of the party to Jayalalithaa, stating that Janaki’s ability to make this decision, without seeking advice from others, was commendable. “Her character and decision-making ability are praiseworthy,” Rajinikanth concluded.
His message serves as a tribute to Janaki’s legacy and contributions to Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
