The Chennai Family Court has officially granted mutual divorce to actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya, daughter of actor Rajinikanth.Dhanush and Aishwarya were married in 2004 after a love affair and have two sons. In January 2022, the couple announced their decision to part ways, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite efforts by family members and friends to resolve their issues, they remained firm in their decision to divorce.
In April, the duo filed a mutual divorce petition in the Chennai Family Court. The case was heard by Principal Family Court Judge S. Subadevi. Initially, hearings were delayed as both Dhanush and Aishwarya failed to appear in court on two occasions.
On November 21, both appeared in court and reiterated their decision to proceed with the mutual divorce. Following their statement, Judge Subadevi granted the divorce, officially annulling their 2004 marriage.
The court’s verdict marks the legal conclusion of the couple’s marriage, ending their nearly two-decade-long relationship.
