The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has announced that a meeting of its district secretaries will be held on January 11.
The meeting will be chaired by party leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
It is expected to deliberate on several key issues, including the party’s strategy for the Erode East by-election. A decision on whether to contest or boycott the by-polls will be taken at the meeting, say reports.
“The party leadership will make the final decision,” said former minister D Jayakumar. The party spokesperson added that the ruling DMK would likely use all its resources to secure a “dubious victory” through illegal means and the misuse of government machinery.
