Thirumavalavan wishes Aadhav Arjuna on joining TVK

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol Thirumavalavan has extended his best wishes to Aadhav Arjuna for his new role in actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
“I heard from news reports that he is going to join actor Vijay’s party and take up the role of political strategist. I wish him all the best,” Thirumavalavan stated when asked about Aadhav Arjuna’s political transition. Arjuna, who was formerly the deputy general secretary of VCK, is set to officially join TVK on February 2 and is expected to oversee the party’s electoral strategy for the 2026 Assembly elections.
Arjuna resigned from VCK on December 15, just six days after the party suspended him for six months over alleged actions that went against the party’s interests. His suspension followed controversial remarks about VCK’s ally, the DMK, and its leaders. Thirumavalavan recalled that rather than offering an explanation or seeking reinstatement, Arjuna chose to resign and publicly announced his departure.
The controversy stemmed from a book launch event where Aadhav Arjuna invited actor Vijay as the chief guest. Initially, Thirumavalavan was also scheduled to attend, but the event took a dramatic turn after Vijay made strong remarks against the DMK, leading to tensions within the VCK-DMK alliance. With Arjuna now joining TVK, the political equations are shifting ahead of the 2026 elections.
Meanwhile, addressing a separate issue, Thirumavalavan commented on the recent incident involving youths in a car with a DMK flag, who were allegedly chasing women along the East Coast Road (ECR). He urged the police to act swiftly and take necessary action against the perpetrators. However, he clarified that an entire political party cannot be blamed for the actions of a few individuals.
With Aadhav Arjuna’s formal entry into TVK, political analysts are keenly watching how Vijay’s party shapes its strategies in Tamil Nadu’s evolving political landscape.
