Prabhu Deva’s Yung Mung Sung ready for release

Dancing star and actor Prabhu Deva is back with a bang in “Yung Mung Sung”, a quirky action-comedy co-starring Lakshmi Menon. Produced by Vasan Visual Ventures, known for quality Tamil cinema, this film is gearing up for a grand summer release this May. What sets Yung Mung Sung apart is its exotic setting—major portions have been shot in China, adding a vibrant and international flavour to the narrative.
Set across two fascinating timelines—starting in the 17th century and progressing into the 1980s—the story revolves around three young Indians who travel to China to master the art of Kung Fu. On returning to Tamil Nadu as a trio called “Yung Mung Sung”, the film follows their unique journey as they use their martial arts skills in unexpected and humorous ways. Blending action, humour, and heartfelt emotion, the film is directed by debutant Arjun S J, who also penned the screenplay for Ajith’s hit Good Bad Ugly.
The film also features RJ Balaji in a pivotal role, alongside a strong supporting cast including director Thangar Bachan, Chitra Lakshmanan, Kali Venkat, Kumki Ashwin, late Marimuthu, Munishkanth, and Baahubali fame Prabhakar. With stylish visuals by R. B. Gurudev, intense stunt sequences choreographed by Silva, and a vibrant soundtrack by Amrish—already a hit with music lovers—Yung Mung Sung promises to be a pan-Indian blockbuster, releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and other major languages this summer.
