Padmanabhapuram DMK MLA T Mano Thangaraj was sworn in as a minister on Monday. He was re-inducted into the M K Stalin-led Tamil Nadu cabinet. The reshuffle followed the resignation of two senior ministers Senthil Balaji & Ponmudy.
Governor R N Ravi administered the oath of office. Thangaraj was earlier removed as Milk and Dairy Development Minister.
Now, he has been given the same portfolio again.
The event was significant for another reason. It marked the first meeting between Chief Minister M K Stalin and Governor Ravi.
This comes after the DMK government won a favourable verdict in the Supreme Court.
The verdict was against the Governor delaying assent to several Bills.
The CM and the Governor shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin and senior minister Duraimurugan were also present.
Later, the Raj Bhavan confirmed Thangaraj’s portfolio as Milk and Dairy Development.
