The Greater Chennai Corporation has introduced a new online platform to streamline the process of obtaining licenses for erecting billboards within the city limits. This digital initiative is designed to enhance transparency, centralize services, and expedite application processing for residents and businesses.
Effective from May 21, all individuals and organizations seeking permission to install billboards in Chennai must submit their applications exclusively through the Corporation’s official website atĀ https://chennaicorporation.gov.in. This shift to an online system replaces the earlier manual procedures, aiming to make the process more accessible and efficient.
Applications submitted via the online portal will be reviewed by a Single Window Committee that meets once every month. Upon approval, applicants will receive notification and will be required to pay the license fee online. Only after the payment is completed will the final clearance to erect the billboard be granted.
To assist applicants, detailed guidelines and instructions are available on the Corporation’s website, ensuring clarity and ease throughout the application process. This move aligns with the Corporation’s broader efforts to digitize services and improve governance through technology.
