A complaint has been filed against V.C. Thirumavalavan following an incident at Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple. Tamil Nadu state secretary of the Akhil Bharat Anuman Sena, Ramalingam, approached the local police on Friday, accusing Thirumavalavan of removing the sacred ash (vibhuti) from his forehead after offering prayers and taking a selfie with a couple visiting the temple .The complaint alleges that this action was disrespectful and intended to hurt believersā sentiments. It claims the act could provoke religious tension and demands that authorities take action against Thirumavalavan for his conduct .
In response, Hindu Munnani Madurai district president Solaikannan questioned the motives behind the complaint. He criticized the timingāseven hours after the incidentāand hinted at political provocation. He also sarcastically questioned why Thirumavalavan assumed temple premises were safe enough to remove his vibhuti in front of a crowd .
