In view of renovation work underway at the Chennai Egmore Railway Station, Southern Railway has temporarily rerouted several services to Tambaram to maintain smooth operations and passenger convenience.Five express trains—including services to Kollam, Madurai, Mannargudi, Thiruchendur, and Guruvayur—will now depart from Tambaram instead of Egmore starting June 18.
Additionally, suburban (electric) train schedules have been revised on the Tambaram–Chennai Beach route. Timings for several weekday-only services have been modified to accommodate the shift, while Sunday schedules remain mostly unchanged, except for the addition of a special train between Beach and Tambaram.
The railways have urged passengers to check updated timings before travel.
