The Fee Fixation Committee headed by Justice Ponappan has revised the fee structure for MBBS and PG medical courses in Tamil Nadu’s private medical colleges.For the 2025–2028 academic period, MBBS fees under the management quota have been increased by ₹1.5 lakh, now fixed at ₹15 lakh per year in 21 self-financing colleges. NRI quota fees have risen by ₹2.5 lakh, reaching ₹27 lakh.
In four private universities, the management quota fees have gone up to ₹30 lakh, an increase of ₹60,000.
However, there is no change in government quota fees, which remain between ₹4.35 lakh and ₹4.5 lakh.
For PG clinical courses, the new fees are ₹3.5 lakh (government quota), ₹16 lakh (management), and ₹29 lakh (NRI quota). For non-clinical PG courses, fees are ₹3 lakh, ₹5 lakh, and ₹19 lakh respectively.
Colleges are also allowed to collect ₹60,000 as development fund in addition. Hostel, transport, and food charges are not included in these amounts.
