Air India has finished checking the fuel control switches (FCS) on its Boeing 787 aircraft. An airline official said no issues were found. The inspection was done as a safety measure after a recent order from the DGCA. The regulator had asked all airlines to check the fuel switch locking system on Boeing 787 and 737 planes.
This order came after a preliminary report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). The report was about a crash last month involving an Air India flight that killed 260 people.
Air India’s engineering team did the checks over the weekend. They informed the pilots through an internal message.
“All inspections are complete. No problems were found,” the official confirmed.
He added that the Throttle Control Module (TCM), which includes the FCS, had already been replaced on all Boeing 787-8 planes as per Boeing’s maintenance plan.
