The Haj Committee of India has extended the last date to submit applications for the Hajj pilgrimage to August 7, 2025. Earlier, the deadline was July 31, 2025. The extension gives more time for interested pilgrims to complete their applications online.
Applicants can submit their forms through the official websiteĀ www.hajcommittee.gov.inĀ or the Haj Suvidha mobile app. Only Indian citizens with valid machine-readable passports issued on or before August 7, 2025, and valid at least until December 31, 2026, are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to:
Pilgrims aged 65 and above
Women travelling without a male companion (Mehram)
Then the general and waitlisted applicants
If the number of applications exceeds the allotted quota, a computerized draw (Qurrah) will be conducted to select the final list of pilgrims.
Those selected must pay an advance amount of ₹1,52,300 by August 20, 2025 to confirm their journey. After the Qurrah, selected applicants must also submit necessary documents to the State Haj Committee within the given time.
This year, a new embarkation point, Vijayawada, has been added, bringing the total number of departure points across India to 18, including Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kochi.
A short Hajj option, allowing a stay of around 20 days, will be available to a maximum of 10,000 pilgrims. This will be selected on a first-come or draw basis and may involve additional costs.
Applicants are advised to read all guidelines carefully and apply only if they are fully prepared, as cancellation after selection could lead to financial penalties.
Deadline extended for Hajj applications till Aug 7
