The price of 22-carat jewellery gold in Chennai has increased sharply today (Sept 3).
One sovereign (8 grams) is selling at ā¹78,440, up by ā¹640. The price per gram has risen by ā¹80 to ā¹9,805.
On Sept 1, gold was sold at ā¹9,705 per gram and ā¹77,640 per sovereign. On Sept 2, the price went up by ā¹20 per gram to ā¹9,725 and by ā¹160 per sovereign to ā¹77,800.
Now, with todayās rise, gold has crossed ā¹78,000 per sovereign, shocking jewellery buyers.
