Nanganallur, a bustling residential area in Chennai, has seen rapid growth over the years. With several temples, schools, and commercial hubs, local residents often struggle with convenient and affordable transport options. Many rely on private autos or buses, which are either expensive or infrequent.
Residents and temple-goers have expressed the need for share auto services to improve last-mile connectivity. Mr. Ramesh, a local resident, said, ā€œDaily commutes from my area to the temple hub are difficult, especially during festivals. Share autos would make it easier and cheaper for everyone.ā€ Another resident, Ms. Priya, added, ā€œIt would reduce waiting times, cut travel costs, and make local travel more efficient, particularly for students and senior citizens.ā€
Temple authorities also see the benefit. ā€œDuring special occasions, thousands of devotees visit Nanganallur temples. Share auto services would help manage the crowd and provide safe, organized transport,ā€ said Mr. S. Ramakrishnan, a temple trustee.
With proper planning and regulation, introducing share autos in Nanganallur can offer affordable, convenient, and eco-friendly transport for residents and devotees alike, easing congestion and improving mobility in this busy neighborhood.
