Speaker M. Appavu on Tuesday announced that the next session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will commence on October 14.
The government is expected to present the Demand for Grants during the session to seek approval for additional expenditure. The duration of the sitting will be finalised in the coming days.
Apart from financial matters, the House is likely to deliberate on key policy issues and review the implementation of various welfare schemes. Opposition members are also expected to raise questions on public grievances and government performance.
Officials said necessary arrangements are being made at the Secretariat to facilitate smooth proceedings. Security around the Assembly complex will be strengthened for the duration of the session.
