Tamil Nadu BJP’s former president, K. Annamalai, has departed for Sri Lanka on a personal trip accompanied by his family. He is scheduled to return to Chennai on October 1.
At the Chennai airport, when approached by reporters for a comment, Annamalai responded with a lighthearted remark, saying, “Every time I arrive, you ask for an interview. Can I keep giving them? Take care of your health.”
This visit marks Annamalai’s second trip to Sri Lanka in recent times. In April 2023, he had visited the island nation to participate in May Day celebrations organized by the Lanka Labour Congress and to engage with Tamil community leaders. Following that visit, he submitted a report to the central government addressing the concerns of Sri Lankan Tamils.
Annamalai’s current trip is not linked to any official engagements or political activities
