Actor Ajith Kumar has said that from his next racing series, he wants to promote Indian cinema on a global stage. The actor, who is currently part of the European Endurance Championship, shared that he plans to display a message on his race car highlighting that India is the largest producer of films in the world. The logo will be featured in more than 20 Indian languages.
Ajith explained that motorsport has given him a platform to connect with people worldwide and that many foreign racers have shown interest in Indian cinema. He believes sports and entertainment are closely linked, both offering hope and relief during difficult times, especially during the pandemic.
The actor also spoke about the pride of carrying the Indian flag in international racing events, acknowledging the contributions of Indian drivers like Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandok, Jahan Daruwala, and Kush Maini. Ajith said his long journey of over 30 years in cinema and the support of fans have made it possible for him to pursue his passion for racing while exploring new ways to represent India.
He added that his upcoming film project, tentatively titled AK64, is in progress, with the script getting ready. Though details remain under wraps, the film is expected to begin production later this year.
