The Kundrathur Panchayat Union, in collaboration with India Turns Pink, organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at the Block Development Office in Padappai. The event featured a walk and a signature campaign aimed at promoting early detection and preventive healthcare among women.
Kalaiselvi Mohan, District Collector of Kanchipuram, served as the Chief Guest, while P.A. Ananda Kumar, Founder and President of India Turns Pink, and Ksheer Vasudha Kumar, Director of Navin’s Housing, attended as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, the District Collector said, “Technology has made cancer detection much easier today. Early identification at Stage 1 or 2 can make breast cancer completely preventable. Everyone should make use of such awareness initiatives.”
Ksheer Vasudha Kumar emphasised the importance of regular screening, stating, “Early screening must become a normal and essential health practice. Talking about it openly helps empower women to take charge of their health.”
The event saw participation from over 500 people, including local residents, officials, and volunteers, all joining hands to support the cause of women’s health and early cancer detection.
