The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has announced that there will be scheduled power cuts in several areas of Chennai tomorrow (February 7, 2026) due to essential maintenance and infrastructure work. The temporary shutdown is set to take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and electricity will be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.Among the localities to be affected are Thirumudivakkam, where supply will be suspended in areas such as Bharadwaj Nagar, Dhanaselvi Nagar, PTC Quarters and Varadharajapuram; Karambakkam, including Mahalakshmi Nagar and Kamala Nagar; as well as parts of the Ambattur Industrial Estate. Residential zones in Perungalathur, Mudichur and Stanley will also experience the outage tomorrow morning.
Officials from the electricity board have urged residents and businesses in the listed areas to make necessary preparations — such as charging essential devices — before the scheduled outage. Power supply will resume by the afternoon once the maintenance work is completed.
