The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu has announced the formation of a Legislative Assembly Election Management Committee under the leadership of state president Nainar Nagendran as the party steps up its preparations for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to party sources, the committee has been constituted to coordinate and execute election strategy effectively across the state, ensuring that party leaders and cadres are fully mobilised for ground‑level campaigning. The panel will guide the BJP’s poll work just as in previous elections, aiming for a focused and organised approach in the run‑up to the polls.
Senior leaders have also been appointed to key roles within the committee. Pon Radhakrishnan, a national executive member of the BJP, will serve as the committee’s convenor, while others — including S.R. Sekhar, R.N. Jayaprakash, M. Venkatesan, Mala Selvakumar and S.R. Ramapriyan — have been named co‑coordinators to support election management efforts across various party functions.
The move reflects the BJP’s intent to intensify electoral outreach and organisational readiness in Tamil Nadu, where the party is contesting as part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) against the incumbent DMK government.
