The Southern Railway has announced temporary changes in the operation of the Sethu Express in view of renovation and redevelopment works at Chennai Egmore railway station.According to the revised schedule, the RameswaramâChennai Egmore Sethu Express will be short-terminated at Tambaram from February 19 to April 5. During this period, the train will arrive at Tambaram at 6.35 a.m. instead of proceeding to Egmore.
Similarly, the Chennai EgmoreâRameswaram Sethu Express will originate from Tambaram instead of Egmore from February 20 to April 6. The departure time from Tambaram has been fixed at 6.25 p.m.
Railway officials said services will not operate to or from Egmore during the above period, and Tambaram will function as the temporary terminal station.
Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and make necessary arrangements for travel to and from Tambaram. The temporary changes are part of ongoing infrastructure modernisation works aimed at enhancing facilities and passenger amenities at Egmore station.
