The Plus 2 (Class 12) public examinations begins today across Tamil Nadu, marking the start of the board exam season. The tests will continue until March 26, with the first paper covering language subjects including Tamil.
Over 8.27 lakh students are appearing for the exams this year at 3,412 centres statewide. Strict rules are in place: mobile phones and electronic devices are banned inside exam halls, and candidates must follow hall ticket instructions and writing guidelines.
To ensure fairness and security, more than 4,500 officials and security personnel have been deployed at examination venues. Facilities such as drinking water, seating, electricity, ventilation and restrooms have been arranged for students and invigilators.
The commencement of board exams has also led authorities to suspend scheduled power cuts across the state to avoid disruptions for students during the exam period.
