The Tamil Nadu government has assured the public that there is ample stock of domestic LPG (cooking gas) cylinders to meet household needs for the next 20 days, despite concerns over supply disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The statement aims to calm fears about potential shortages amid broader national directives prioritising domestic LPG distribution.
State officials said the stock position remains sufficient and stable, and consumers should not worry about immediate shortages of household cooking gas as supplies continue to flow to distributors across the State. The government’s announcement comes at a time when refinery orders are focusing on boosting LPG production and ensuring that domestic users receive priority amid rising global energy market volatility.
Authorities have also urged residents to continue booking LPG refills through normal channels and follow any updated guidelines from oil marketing companies, noting that the present stock should comfortably support demand over the coming weeks.
