The lion and deer safari services at Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur will remain closed for visitors from March 18 to March 28 due to maintenance works, zoo authorities announced.
Officials said the safari services are being suspended for 11 days to carry out urgent repair and maintenance work inside the safari areas. The temporary closure will help ensure safety and improve facilities for visitors and animals.
The zoo administration said the suspension applies specifically to the lion safari and deer safari services during this period. However, the rest of the zoo will remain open to the public as usual.
Located in Vandalur on the outskirts of Chennai, the Arignar Anna Zoological Park attracts thousands of visitors every day who come to see a wide range of animals and birds.
Authorities have advised visitors planning to experience the safari rides to schedule their visit after March 28 when the services are expected to resume.
