Tokyo, Mar 30:
Nineteen-year-old Kimi Antonelli secured his second consecutive Formula 1 victory by winning the Japanese Grand Prix for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
Despite a slow start that dropped him to sixth, Antonelli staged a strong comeback and capitalised on a safety car period to take control of the race. He finished comfortably ahead of Oscar Piastri, with Charles Leclerc completing the podium.
The victory further cements Antonelli’s status as one of the brightest young talents in Formula 1, as he continues to challenge more experienced drivers early in his career. His composure under pressure and race management have drawn praise from teams and analysts alike.
With back-to-back wins, Antonelli has also strengthened his position in the drivers’ standings, emerging as a serious title contender this season.
Mercedes, meanwhile, appears to have regained competitive momentum, setting up an exciting battle in the races ahead.
