Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial strategy meeting with Tamil Nadu BJP leaders in Chennai to intensify election efforts ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls.
The closed-door session, held at a star hotel in Guindy, focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation and improving coordination with alliance partners.
The meeting is seen as part of the BJP’s broader plan to sharpen its campaign in a state where it is seeking to expand its political footprint.
Senior leaders who attended the meeting included Union Minister L. Murugan, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, former state president K. Annamalai, Tamilisai Soundararajan, and Vanathi Srinivasan. Discussions reportedly centred on booth-level planning, voter outreach, and campaign coordination across constituencies.
Modi arrived in Chennai after campaigning in Puducherry, where he led a roadshow for NDA candidates, signalling a high-intensity campaign phase in the region.
With BJP candidate lists already released, the Prime Minister urged party leaders to improve on previous electoral performances and work towards consolidating anti-DMK votes through the National Democratic Alliance, including key partner All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
The meeting underscores the BJP’s renewed push in Tamil Nadu, coming on the heels of Modi’s recent campaign rallies in Chengalpattu, Madurai, and Tiruchy, as the party seeks to make deeper inroads in the state’s evolving political landscape.
