A gripping socio-national drama, The India Story, starring Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade, is all set to hit theatres on July 24. Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, the film is directed by Chettan DK and produced and written by Sagar B Shinde.
Positioned as a hard-hitting and relevant narrative, the film delves into the alarming consequences of chemical misuse, particularly in pesticide farming and related scandals. Also referred to as The India Story: Slow Poison during production, the story moves beyond an individual family’s ordeal to highlight a much larger public health crisis. It sheds light on systemic lapses and underscores the urgent need for stronger regulatory frameworks to address the widespread impact of industrial negligence.
Speaking about the film’s intent, Sagar B Shinde noted that the story reflects a largely overlooked reality affecting countless lives across the country. He emphasised that chemical misuse is not just an environmental concern but a serious human crisis, and expressed hope that the film will spark awareness and meaningful conversations around accountability and reform.
Director Chettan DK praised the commitment of the cast and crew, highlighting the nuanced performances delivered by Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade. Marking their first on-screen collaboration, the pairing is expected to bring emotional depth and intensity to a narrative that blends compelling storytelling with strong social commentary.
