Chennai, May 11:

A minor disruption marked the opening day of the Tamil Nadu Assembly session, as TVK minister Keerthana could not take oath as an MLA after failing to bring her election certificate.

Due to the missing document, she was unable to be sworn in along with other Ministers during the proceedings. Officials indicated that she will take oath at a later stage after submitting the required certificate.

The rest of the newly elected MLAs were administered oath by the pro-tem Speaker, formally commencing the functioning of the new Assembly.
