Kathmandu, Jun 10:
Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah ‘Balen’ inducted two new ministers in his cabinet on Tuesday. Sudan Gurung of Rastriya Swatantra Party was appointed as Home Minister while independent lawmaker Mahabir Pun was appointed as Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation.
Gurung had earlier stepped down from the cabinet following allegations relating to financial irregularity and illegal asset accumulation.
However, a government-formed probe committee gave a clean chit to him, clearing the way for his reappointment. Pun was also a member of the caretaker government headed by Sushila Karki.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to both the newly-appointed ministers. With this, the strength of the Balen-led cabinet has reached 17.
